ride the WAVE! a project of York County Jobs Connection.

Check out this new transportation service designed to help connect you to a job or training, and your kids to child care.

WAVE is designed to help get you to most first, second and third shift jobs and training, 7 days a week, by providing:

· Home pick ups;

· Drop-offs at area child care facilities;

· Scheduled runs to major employers along the Route 109 corridor in Sanford and Wells;

· Drop-offs at York County Community College, the University of Maine in Springvale and Seacoast Business School in Sanford.

Fares are set on a zone basis, with half-priced fares for children and seniors. Half-month and monthly passes are available on a discounted basis. If you currently receive TANF, the Department of Health and Human Services will assist you with your fare for eligible trips.

All trips must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance. A brief application will be taken over the phone, including information on your employment or training schedule, and your children's child care arrangements. Information, referrals, and vouchers (for eligible children) to child care providers are available through CareLink (324-0735).

Call 459-WAVE from 8 am to 5 pm for further information and reservations.
